Useless! ,September 23, 2011 ByAmazon Verified Purchase ( What’s this? )This review is from: So You Want a Reef Tank (Kindle Edition)Very incomplete! It’s nothing more than a panflet, with just the most basic information. Totally useless for beginners, since it lacks lots of important data, and for advanced aquarists as well, since it only tells what they already know…

Don’t bother ,August 8, 2011 ByAmazon Verified Purchase ( What’s this? )This review is from: So You Want a Reef Tank (Kindle Edition)This is a pamphlet – not a book by any stretch of the imagination. It glosses over lots of material, lacks any detail, and is full of grammatical errors. I bought this after buying Saltwater Aquariums for Dummies thinking I might glean a few tips in this “book” from someone who is an experienced aquarist. Not so. The author keeps saying “that’s outside the scope of this book” or “that topic is a whole book to itself” so just ignores it. Very weak book and of no real value. Buy one by a real author.

Great service and product ,July 27, 2011 Byshizumie –Amazon Verified Purchase ( What’s this? )This review is from: New 48″ 216W T5 Aquarium Light Fixture Reef Fish Tank Light (Misc.)So I ordered this light and waited patiently for it to arrive. Alas less than a week later the lights arrived! I’m super stoked to get the lights, I open them up and every single bulb is shattered! one of the base stands are broken, in half. It was actually obvious, the box looked as though it was thrown out of the back of the truck! Also the shipper didn’t even knock on the door, I just happened to hear something outside and when I went to the door, the deliverer was fleeing the scene! So I got back on amazon and called up the company, I went right through to customer service, and they apologized, and said they would get this taken care off right away. They sent out new items, and I had them within a week! So although I had to wait an extra week to actually use the lights, customer service was great with this company!!
So New Lights in hand I get it all set up and hooked up to my timer. These lights are great! For the first 2 day’s there was a bit off a (burning plastic smell) were the lights were burning off some of the glues due to heat. After this there has been no smell, and the lights run fairly cool for the watts. It would be nice to have a instruction manual or pamphlet for instillation, as the feet are not attached. It was not hard to figure out but still for less mechanically inclined peoples some direction would be nice.
All in all I am very pleased with this lighting system, for the money I have not seen anything better! -

Cheap for a reason! ,July 18, 2011 ByxZaCKx (Idaho, USA) –This review is from: New 48″ 216W T5 Aquarium Light Fixture Reef Fish Tank Light (Misc.)The light is bright enough and very affordable. The problem lies with the heat. In the unit I bought, you cant run the T5′s and the actinics together for very long before the thing gets too hot to even touch…just running the actinics for a couple hours overheated the unit and fried the ballast for the actinics…TWICE..at $20 each! Save yourself the money and just buy a 108w T5..or spend the money for a quality light fixure. I’m giving one star for the T5′s being nice and bright and one star for the LED’s..All in all I overpaid for a light that doesnt work as the manufacturer advertises.

48″ aquarium light fixture ,November 25, 2011 ByJWILL –Amazon Verified Purchase ( What’s this? )This review is from: New 48″ 216W T5 Aquarium Light Fixture Reef Fish Tank Light (Misc.)This is exactly what you are paying for. I was a little nervous with some of the reviews. This product is great for the price. It is obviously not worth $500.00 but that is why it only cost $120.00.
